Sherkin Island has long been associated with the arts and hosts a BA (hons) in Visual Art degree course in association with Dublin Institute of Technology, Sherkin Island Development Society and West Cork Art Centre.

Sherkin Island is one of Ireland's unique offshore islands. After a pleasant 10 minute ferry ride from the village of Baltimore in West Cork, you will find yourself in a totally unspoilt setting offering ideal surroundings for inspired works of art. Just three miles long and two miles wide, Sherkin Island offers some of the most spectacular scenery that you will ever see.
